Ken Joyce has been a friend for many years, and he is very knowledgeable about the game and hitting a baseball! He has been in the professional ranks as well as privately.
I would not hesitate to send my own son to Ken for lessons.

I spent 2 professional seasons working day in and day out with Ken Joyce. His knowledge and expertise in mechanics, approach, and winning at bats is worth trusting for the betterment of your career. Your journey to high school baseball, college, professional, and the major leagues is more rewarding, doing it alongside people like Ken Joyce.

As a former major league player and minor league manager with around 3,000 games managed, I know the importance of good coaches. Ken Joyce was my hitting coach for 3 years. By far one of the best in the business. Always prepared, knowledgeable, and does it with specific drills for specific results. I would highly recommend Kenny to anyone who wants to improve his or her hitting skills!!

I started bringing my teenage son, Jarrett, to Swing Like a Pro with Ken Joyce this past winter and the impact it’s had on Jarrett has been incredible. His swing improved immediately but more importantly, his confidence and knowledge of hitting has also increased. Ken does a tremendous job of explaining the “why” behind each of the drills and makes sure the hitter understands and masters each step before moving on to the next one. He is calm, patient, and always positive. Jarrett loves the time he and Ken spend together, and he can’t wait to take the things he’s learned into the season. I’ve seen Ken work with all levels of players, from Little Leaguers to Major Leaguers, and they all get better under his watch. Anyone that’s serious about improving as a hitter should go see Ken.

After being involved in the softball world since my oldest daughter started playing 12 years ago, Ken has truly impressed me with his approach and coaching philosophy. Working closely with Ken over the past two years has been an invaluable experience.
Ken doesn’t just focus on teaching the mechanics of a swing; he also emphasizes the crucial mindset required for success at the plate. This dual approach has instilled immense confidence in my daughter, Jessica, every time she steps up to bat!

My daughter Bella Napolitano is a junior at Cheverus High school. She is 17 and has been hitting with Ken since she was 8 years old. I can’t speak highly enough about their time working together. She not only has improved as a hitter but developed a great work ethic using his drills on her own along with lessons. Her knowledge at the plate coming from Ken’s teaching, and patience, have made her confident not only at softball but in other aspects of her life as well. I highly recommend Swing Like a Pro and look forward to Bella working with Ken throughout her high school, travel, and college seasons.

My sessions with Ken are not only highly productive but also very enjoyable. Ken has a one-of-a-kind instructing style that leads to rapid development. These improvements can be seen and most importantly felt within the same session. Ken uses language that can be easily understood at any level. I use what I’ve learned in my daily routine. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Ken to improve my game.

I’ve been working with Ken for almost ten years, and the difference from when I started working with him to now is incredible. He has helped me become a better hitter and is always willing to help me out when I need it, even if I couldn’t come to work with him in person. Ken is a great teacher of hitting and has helped me out significantly in my career helping me become the player that I am.

My son Alex started working with Ken at age 10 and each year made tremendous strides. Ken is great with kids and instructs in a way they can understand, never overloading them with too much information at one time. Alex always looks forward to his lessons no matter how hectic life is. Ken is the consumate professional, he works up notes to track progress and what he’s been working on with each hitter. We highly recommend Ken for hitters of all levels.

My daughter Sophia started working with Ken during this off season. She loves softball and was looking to work on her hitting before next year. Ken was able to provide her with a better understanding of the fundamentals of a swing as well as providing her with the skills and drills to continually improve her performance that she can also practice at home.
As a parent it is great to watch Ken work with Sophia not just for what she was learning but how much fun she was having in the session! He has a way of talking with the kids that is entertaining, understandable and that they can then apply to their swing.
Sophia and I are both excited to see what this season brings for her after all her work with Ken! She is more confident and feels prepared to go onto the field and “be her own best coach” based on what she has learned.

As my baseball hitting coach, Ken has been one of the most valuable resources in my pursuit of bettering myself as a hitter. With his expert guidance and personalized instruction, he’s helped me understand and breakdown every part of my swing. He’s helped me to not only understand the how but the why.
Through my sessions with Ken, it’s helped me become more confident in my swing. Ken gives insightful feedback that’s helped me improve and my exit velocity numbers reflect this. Ken’s support and investment in me throughout my time with him have both positively impacted me on the field and in the cage.
Ken is a friendly and approachable coach. I appreciate everything he’s done for me and I look forward to my sessions every week.

It was amazing how fast Ken was able to get my son to understand his swing. The step-by-step drills that Ken incorporates in his lessons allow the player to understand their swing and become their own hitting coach. Ken will get your player in the best possible position to swing, which will give them the most confidence. Ken also put on an impressive clinic for the Sanford Little League coaches. Our coaches will now be able to pass on Ken’s tips and drills to kids at a young age. We will be teaming up with Ken again for clinics for our Little League players.

My name is Carlos Tosca. I managed the Portland Sea Dogs from 1994 to 1996 and have coached in professional baseball for over 40 years. During my time with the Sea Dogs, I had the good fortune to add Ken Joyce to our staff. Ken was a local coach and teacher who desired to be part of the Sea Dogs coaching staff. With the help of my boss John Boles and Sea Dogs President Charlie Eshbach, we were able to bring Ken on board. From the moment Ken joined our staff, we were all impressed and he made a very positive impact on the players and coaches. Ken’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the game, paired with his excellent teaching ability, made him a tremendous asset to the team.
During the Sea Dogs second year, our Major League team, the Florida Marlins, had some significant changes to their coaching staff. They hired away our hitting coach, who Ken worked closely with. Ken was the ideal and logical new coach, and we were able to bring him into this new position. Needless to say, Ken was a HOME RUN! Ken went from those early days with the Sea Dogs to have an outstanding professional coaching career, spending time with the Miami Marlins, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, and Milwaukee Brewers. He has coached or managed at every minor league level, having worked with the likes of Mike Trout and Bryce Harper.
Having known Ken for over 30 years and watching his career develop and achieve successes, I would highly recommend entrusting any young player to work under Ken’s tutelage. I can guarantee the young players and even the older ones, will come out as better players and also better people.

My name is Emma Burnham; I am a sophomore at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where I am continuing my athletic and academic career. I have been with Ken at Swing like a pro since I was eight, and I am still going. Ken has been one of my biggest supporters since the age of eight, and he continues to be.
Whether Ken was away with one of his teams or home, I could text or call him day or night for any advice, and he would always be able to uplift me and remind me that “you are the best!” Ken has taught me more than just how to swing a bat; he has taught me how to believe in myself and, most importantly, what it takes to be a great teammate and a great person.
Hitting with Ken has been one of the best experiences, and I hope others are just as lucky as I am to get this experience and the insight he brings to the softball/baseball community.

We first connected with Ken for our son’s hitting about 3 years ago and he has proven to be absolutely essential to our son’s baseball success and understanding of hitting. During the month before he starting working with Ken back in 2021, Jacoby had hit 3 extra base hits for 7 RBIs. Compare that to his first month of working with Ken, when he hit 10 extra base hits including 3 home runs for 16 RBIs. There is no question that Ken has taken our good hitter to the next level right from the start of their time together. As their work together continues, so do the results.
Ken’s teaching style is effective and dynamic. He is relatable, invested and relaxed with his players. Hitting well is a project he and his players are working on together and he is deliberate in efficiently making each session the most productive possible. We have seen Ken correct our son’s swing from across the gym using three words of shorthand code he and our son understand, all while he was telling us a delightful story about his family’s butterscotch pie. Ken is truly that guy who loves every bit of what he does and knows it inside and out, who is as giddy as you are when you break a new record, and the one who walks with you through the days when success doesn’t come as easily. He knows baseball and he knows how to make his baseball knowledge accessible and understandable to his players whatever their age or level of play.
We are ecstatic that Ken will be available to all of us year-round moving forward. You simply will not find a better hitting coach or baseball mentor to be on your child’s side. Thanks again as always Ken, for everything, and see you next week.

Ken goes beyond just improving swing mechanics. His approach focuses on building player awareness and self-recognition; teaching them to understand their swing, to self-evaluate, and as a result providing them the skills to self-correct when they are on the field. His approach helps his players not only improve their hitting skills but also build confidence. I highly recommend Ken for anyone seeking a hitting coach who truly cares about their overall development as a player and as a person.

My younger brother and I have been working with Ken since Little League, and have returned for his advice every winter! He notices the areas-for-improvement in my swing almost immediately, and ensures that I understand the imperfections, so that I can prevent them in the future on my own. Not only are his lessons informative and productive, but they’re also filled with fun and game-like competition, especially if you have a stubborn little brother like me!
